Dutch born Henk van Ess is obsessed by finding news in data.  European media houses, like Axel Springer, Persgroep, European Broadcasting Union and Schibsted love his literal and lateral thinking and hire Henk on a regular basis to spill his secrets. He rarely appears in public conferences, so this is your chance to find out the best tricks in internet research.

Dutch-born Henk van Ess (NL +31 337508747 ) is, according to The Economist, New York Times and CNBC, “a technology expert” specialised in new media. He is deeply involved in the worldwide training of information specialists and multimedia & web editors. Van Ess is co-founder of the European Centre for Computer Assisted Research and is a regular speaker on social media & ‘digital diggingʼ at international conferences. His latest books are “Handboek Datajournalism” (Boom, 2012) and Google Code (Pearson, 2011 – Dutch, German and French edition).
Van Ess is one of the founders of “Inside Search” – a magazine about search and works for “VVOJ Medialab”, “how to’s” about new media.
